Hip Hop against Hate

The imbalance of the 3rd chakra is alive and kicking…us to death. All of this hate brought about by fearful, unhappy, pathetic (yet dangerous) self-limiting people with even more limited minds! It leaves one almost speechless…almost.

The ongoing case of survivor Megan Williams has motivated everyone from lawyers to hip-hoppers to speak out against hate crimes. In fact, I heard a man call into a local radio station this morning and say that crimes against women in general should be considered hate crimes (after all, so goes the ubiquitous SHE; so go we all).  To amplify the voices of these views (and those protesting bigotry, from the streets to the courts, in our society), there’s a rally and concert scheduled by the Hip Hop Caucus for Saturday, November 17th in the nation’s capital. The rally will be at the Washington Monument (of course) and the concert will be at the Sylvan Theatre.

Also, the Williams trial is scheduled for January 2008. Until then, you can blog your healing words & wishes to Megan and visit the official site for updates and more info.

…black, white, brown, tall, skinny, fat, men, women, children, hetero, homo, yuppie, hippie, neo-con, libertarian, tree-huggers, rappers, violinists, meat-eaters, muslims, christians, earth magicians…it’s one world everybody and we’re all humans with 99% of our DNA exactly the same! We need to start acting on the simple truth that all things are possible in unity (that’s why negative forces always divide before they conquer, yes?).

There’s alot to do and we’re behind because we’re still engaged in foolishness. I mean, bigotry and self-loathing…in the 21st century! How stupid is that???

So, the symbolic color for this weekend’s unified voice against hatred and bigotry is RED. Let’s all wear it in solidarity.

…and here’s a tube bit from the Hip Hop Caucus:
